Georgie
Fill out our Adoption Application

Georgie was rescued from the Pima County Animal Control. He had very nasty, infected teeth, and a grapefruit sized cyst on his abdomen, which could have been the reason he found himself at the county shelter. We think perhaps he was turned in because his previous owners could not afford a dental and tumor removal. APARN has been actively rehabilitating George with his benign cyst removal, dental and weight loss program.

George has a couple of Foster Home knick names. First is Gorgeous Georgus
and second is Hummer. George is a big pug who came to us at 37 lbs and when he wants to get from point A to point B, he puts it in Hummer mode and mows over anything in his
path.

George's weight loss program started with the 1 lbs from the cyst removal and he weights in now at 33.5 lbs. He is on a weight loss dog food and has 2 to 3 walks a day.

He is house broken but needs to be taken out twice a day. He has no marking issues
after a month of observation. His new owner will need to keep a watchful eye on him for
occasional rock chewing; his foster has only caught him once. He does not like the doggie door but probably could be trained to use one. The chain link in the foster home dog run freaks him out a bit, likely from the time at animal control. When he is inside chain link he starts circling.

He gets along with other pugs very well and understand basic commands like
sit, no, down and off. He is a wonderful dog and would make a great companion for both a family or a senior. He is a very low maintenance dog.

Georgie's adoption fee is $200.

ADOPTION PROCESS

Would you like to fill out our adoption application? Please go to our adoption page and fill out the application!

APARN has taken in 60 pugs so far this year (from January
1st to May 6th).    Won't you please consider making a  monetary donation to help us give these pugs the care they need?

We may have more dogs than are shown on this page, and dogs are coming in regularly so please submit an application and get on our list! All of our dogs are spayed or neutered. Our adoption process begins with submitting an application. We will try to respond to your application in a timely matter, but please remember that we are all volunteers, and often get backed up.
