HAZEL
4/11/08- HOSPICE
Fill out our
Adoption Application
Age:
I
am about 10 years old.
Likes: I love to be with
my people, and while I enjoy
being petted, I don't want to be
held. I will let you know when I
want to get up in your lap and
when I want down.
Dislikes: do not like
loud noises, or when other dogs
get near my food!
Medications: None, other
than antibiotics to clear up the
infection on my side. She went
in for a teeth cleaning and
found her mouth to be very
infected, the infection had
spread to her jaw bone and
weakened it to the point it
cracked. She is on antibiotics
and will be for a least a month
or so. Updated 4/5/08-Hazel's
infection in her mouth has
returned, and will be going into
surgery on Monday to have the
last of her teeth removed. The
infection has caused her cracked
jaw to stop healing. She will
again be on antibiotics for a
while.
Other specifications: I
was bitten by a larger dog, and
that has become very infected,
and the doctor is treating
me for it. I also have some
broken teeth. Once my infection
is cleared up, I can have
surgery to be spayed and have
the broken teeth removed. I am
missing an eye, and have limited
vision in the other. I am 98%
housebroken, and sometimes use
potty pads if you don't pay
attention to when I need to go
out. I am a small pug, weighing
in at 11.8lbs!
Update: Hazel had to have
several teeth removed, and has
been left with 7, she does not
do well under anesthesia.
Because of the infection in her
teeth it moved into her mouth
and has weakened her jaw.
Because the jaw was weakened it
is cracked and will take several
months before it completely
healed. She is on antibiotics at
least until the end of March.
Update 4-11-08:
Hazel's teeth have all been
removed, her jaw is still broken
and will never mend, as scar
tissue have grown over. She will
be on soft food and pain meds
the rest of her life.
Why turned into rescue: I
was rescued from a backyard
breeder, who no longer needed my
services. And it is a good thing
I was rescued when I was,
because two days after I got to
my foster home, I went into
heat.
Hazel's adoption fee is $200.
