LUCKY
Fill out our Adoption Application
Hi, I'm Lucky, in more ways than one! APARN rescued me from the county shelter, where I was going to be euthanized because I was "Fearful." Trust me, if you were a little pug like me, and your people took you to a shelter, you would be fearful too!

Age: approximately 8 months according to the vet.

Likes:  I LOVE to play!  I am all puppy and love to chew on my toys, play with other dogs and I am constantly busy, busy, busy!  I love to be petted and snuggled but sometimes it gets in my way of playing so I get squirmy sometimes!  I get along great with other pugs and I ignore my cat sisters (they are very strange and furry!).  I love children as long as they are gentle with me because I am a very petite little boy.  I also love to chew so I would probably do better with older children.

Dislikes:  None to date.  My foster mom is teaching me how to walk on a leash and I really don't like it but she keeps telling me that one day I will love it!

Housetraining:  I am learning the doggy door and doing pretty good!  I need a home with loving guidance to help me get this down!

Crate Training:  My foster mom is teaching me that a crate can actually be a really great place when I am tired and don't want to be bugged.  Sometimes I whine a little when I first go in there because I'd rather be out getting loves and pets but once I snuggle down into my super soft blanket I don't think it is so bad.

Medications/General Health:  Right now I am very skinny and my foster mom is letting me have special treats and snacks that my pug sisters and brothers don't get.  Maybe that's another reason my name is Lucky!  Because I am so skinny, the vet ran some special tests.  It turns out I had something called Giardia, and I am on medication to clear that up.  I also have a Pancreatic Deficiency, and will need a scoop of a special powder on my food every day for the rest of my life, but other than that, I am awesome!

Reason Turned Into Rescue:  Rescued from Maricopa County Shelter where they flagged me as being fearful and not fit to be adopted.  She came and picked me up and the first thing I did was give her lots and lots of kisses!  I wasn't fearful anymore because I knew I was going to be safe and sound and that I was going to find a great new forever home!

Do you have it in your heart to take me home?  I really am a great little boy!

If you have some older kids and pugs that need a young playmate like me, please fill out the adoption application. My adoption fee is $300.
I'll be here waiting to be lucky again!

ADOPTION PROCESS

Would you like to fill out our adoption application? Please go to our adoption page and fill out the application!

APARN has taken in 60 pugs so far this year (from January
1st to May 6th).    Won't you please consider making a  monetary donation to help us give these pugs the care they need?

We may have more dogs than are shown on this page, and dogs are coming in regularly so please submit an application and get on our list! All of our dogs are spayed or neutered. Our adoption process begins with submitting an application. We will try to respond to your application in a timely matter, but please remember that we are all volunteers, and often get backed up.
