Hi, my name is Reno and I’m a
very special little pug. I was
surrendered to APARN and not
treated very nicely in my last
home. I’m very scared of
humans, loud noises, and sudden
movements. I really like other
dogs though, so that’s my
comfort zone. I’m working
really hard at my foster home to
become more socialized. My
foster mommy says I’m far too
young and cute not to make a
fantastic turnaround. I need a
LOT of love and attention from a
family who is willing to put in
some time working with me. I
already love to be held and
cuddled by my foster family, but
it takes a while for me to come
to you. I’ll come around once I
get over my trust issues.
Dislikes:
None
Medications:
I’m on medicine for an ear
infection, but that should be
cleared up in no time.
Other
specifications:
Reno is going to be neutered
this week (5/6) and then he’ll
be ready for adoption. He’s
also going to get a nice dental
cleaning too! Reno needs a home
with at least one other dog to
help him socialize and
preferably no small children as
he scares easily. He’s a super
sweet little guy with no
aggression whatsoever. He’s
just timid. Reno is a beautiful
pug and is about 15lbs. He
could stand to put on some more
weight, so his foster family is
working on that.
Update 5-23-08 Well it
only took a week for me to make
that fantastic turnaround my
foster mommy kept telling me I’d
make!! I’m like a whole new
puppy…literally. I charge around
the house and yard after the
other dogs, smother my foster
parents in pug kisses, jump
around in my baby pool, and I am
generally loving life right now.
These days my tail is always up
and curly. It’s amazing what
happens when you try and trust
humans again after a really bad
incident. They’re not all bad
out there! Thanks APARN for
saving my life and helping me
become the pug I was meant to
be.
I’m over my ear infection and
neutered, however, the vet
discovered I have hip dysplasia
due to poor breeding. My left
leg is longer than my right so
the joints rub together.
Fortunately I’m young enough
that it doesn’t bother me right
now, but I may need surgery
later in life for this. I’m
worth it though! I’m the
sweetest little pug and plan to
live a long and happy life. If
you have room in your home for
me and think you may have some
dogs I could play with, please
consider me when filling out
your adoption application.
Why turned in to
rescue:
Reno was turned over to APARN as
an owner surrender. He was kept
outside and never had positive
social interaction with humans.
Consequently he is going to need
a family understanding of this
and willing to dole out the love
readily!
Reno’s adoption fee is $300.
