How do I vote for my favorites?
Voting is easy, just click on the VOTE button below the pug you wish to vote for, login to PayPal, and designate the number of votes ($1 per) you wish to cast.
How does the contest work?
Votes are accepted each week from Sunday through Saturday. At the end of each week, votes are tallied and the 20% with the lowest number of total votes are eliminated. This continues weekly until the Top 12 are determined. At that point, the eliminations go from 12 pugs to 6 pugs to 3 pugs to 2 pugs to the final pug!
How is the winner determined?
At the end of the final round, out of the two remaining contestants, the pug with the most total votes is named the winner!
Who can vote?
Anyone with a PayPal account can vote as often and as many times as they like! If you enter your pug, be sure to encourage your friends and family to vote for him/her! All votes must be cast through Paypal for tracking purposes.
What are my options if my pug is eliminated?
Since so many people travel or may be on summer vacation, we want to be accommodating for the contest. An eliminated pug can brought back to active status during the week immediately following elimination, with a donation as follows:
- If eliminated prior to the Top 24, buy back is $250.
- If eliminated after Top 24 but before Top 12, buy back is $500.
- If eliminated after the Top 12, but before the Top 3, buy back is $1,000.
- There are no buy backs after the Top 3.
What are the incentives for placing in the Top 12?
The Top 12 pugs will be featured on the monthly pages of the 2014 Cutest Pugs Calendar. The winner will be featured on the cover of APARN’s 2014 Cutest Pugs Calendar as well as on one of the monthly pages.

What is the contest for?
The Cutest Pug Photo Contest is an important summer fundraiser for APARN. Summer is a very busy time for intakes, and we are anticipating a very busy summer intake season. With a high number of intakes come high medical bills. Please help us take care of all of the things our foster pugs need by helping us reach our goal of $30,000.
Can I post a link to the voting page on my Facebook page?
Absolutely! Post on Facebook, Twitter, and anywhere else you can encourage people to vote for your pug! Remember, this is a fundraiser, so we need all the votes we can get to raise money for APARN’s foster pugs.
What is Lulu’s Fund?
Lulu’s Fund was set up by the Timothy T. Day Foundation, and will match the amount earned in the Cutest Pug Contest up to $25,000! This means every $1 vote actually brings in $2 to APARN!
