Hello, I’m Athena and I was named after the Greek goddess of wisdom and the arts! Wow, I’m special, so let me tell you about myself.
I’m about 6 yrs old and a petite girl barely tipping the scales at 13 lbs. I was turned in to a local shelter where I waited to find out what I did so wrong for them to give me up. You can see by my “before” picture that I look pretty pitiful, but I only have allergies! I have to stay away from grass and eat a grain free, limited ingredient dog food. I may have to take some medications temporarily. It should not be a big deal, after all, I am a canine Greek goddess.
I am such a nice, sweet pug girl. I get along with all the bigger pugs in my foster home both girls and a boy. I sleep quietly in a crate at night and I’ve learned how to use the doggy door. There aren’t any little kids or cats here so we really don’t know my response, but I’m sure I would be fine if the kids are well behaved.
I take walks with the rest of my canine roommates and I lead the pack. I search out the comfy beds around the house and that’s where you will find me…close to you, napping in a soft, clean bed.
I will be a beautiful pug girl in a few months of good treatment (some medicated baths and also some medication), so don’t let these “before” pictures scare you off. If I’m this cute now, just think what I will be then!
