Hi my name is Bobby and I am 5 yrs old. I want to tell you a little about why I am in APARN why I am in hospice in hopes to educate everyone.
You know us pugs, we love to eat just about anything, as do most dogs. There are lots of things we shouldn’t eat that people just don’t know about. I am going to tell you about grapes.
Most people think that grapes would be good for us, and I use to love eating frozen grapes. My owners thought this was a good healthy treat for me, and would keep me cool as well in the hot summer.
If they had only known, I would never be in chronic renal failure. Grapes cause toxic effects on the kidneys, which leads to renal failure. I have to be on Rx dog food the rest of my life and on several different kinds of medicines. I started eating grapes 2 yrs ago, so it has been a long time coming.
I have also been on sub-q fluids, but I seem to be drinking enough water right now that I don’t need the sub-q fluids at this time. The doctors have given me 6 months to a year to live. I am hoping to beat those odds and live a little longer, keep your fingers crossed.
Now let me tell you some good things about myself. I use the doggie door and never have an accident in the house, even with all the water I have to drink. Oh by the way, I only like bottled water!
I love to have a chew toy and I love to cuddle, as long as you cuddle me back! I have a good appetite which is a good sign.
My foster mom says that I seem pretty bouncy and happy and my tongue always is poked out just a tiny bit, and she thinks that makes me extra cute.
I get a long with my foster cats, I just ignore them.
If you would like to donate towards some of my medical needs I would be so happy and would probably send you a thank you note that I will write personally to you.
Please remember not to feed your dogs any grapes, and make sure you pass on that information to your friends as well.
