Three year old Bruce Lee was our first foster, who came to us in 2005 when he was 17 months old. His story is a sad one, as Bruce Lee was blinded when he was 9 months old, when his original owners didn’t want to buy the eye medication for an eye infection from the vet because of the cost, so they went to Mexico and ended up with something that was 95% alcohol. The solution damaged one eye so badly it had to be removed, and blinded the other. They then took him to their vet to have put to sleep because he could no longer see, and the vet called APARN who of course took him in.
Bruce Lee was adopted out once through APARN, but was returned several months later due to family hardship, and that is when we got him to foster. He has lost both of his eyes, but gets around like any dog that can see. He is full of life, and as happy as can be. Bruce has brought so much joy into our lives, that we can’t imagine life without him .
