Hi!  My name is Chase, as in Chase Bank!

I am about 2 1/2 years old, and I am so thankful to APARN for taking me in, and grateful to the Arizona Humane Society for calling APARN about me. don’t remember much about it, or why I was in the street, but I was hit by a car, and the people who hit me didn’t even stop to help me. A nice Police Officer saw me on the side of the road, and took me to the Humane Society where the doctors took X-Rays and found my left front leg was broken. They put a splint on my leg and called APARN, who of course never wants to turn away any pug, no matter what they need, and they came and got me.

After a couple days in a really busy and fun foster home, APARN took me to the vet on June 1st and had my leg operated on, and I was neutered and had all my shots. A new foster mom picked me up and took me home, and put me in a crate in the middle of the living room. There are more pugs here (who would have thought there were so many pugs anywhere?), and they sometimes lie around near me to keep me company.  Foster mom takes me outside to go potty, and promises me that in a couple weeks I’ll get to spend more time outside the crate, but in the meantime my leg has to heal and I’m supposed to stay in the crate most of the time for six weeks.  It’s really pretty cool – I saw the X-rays and there is a metal rod holding the pieces of my leg together with screws. The bandage came off a couple days ago, and I know it’s getting better.

I am also a loud breather, I think I have that thing called an Elongated Soft Palate. There is a surgery to fix that, but I am so grateful that APARN is paying to fix my leg, that I don’t feel right asking them for more than my share of surgery money.

My surgery is pretty expensive, and there may be more to come with my breathing thing. Foster mom said APARN has put together a FirstGiving Page to help raise money to cover the cost of my surgery. You can go to www.firstgiving.org/chase-pug and check it out. If you want to make a donation I would be so thankful to you, it’s really easy and very safe, as it is a secure website.

I’m a nice little pug; I love people and other dogs, and like to give kisses; I can’t wait until I’m allowed to get on the couch and snuggle beside my people.

I’ll keep you updated on how my leg is healing. And please go to the FirstGiving Page (www.firstgiving.org/chase-pug); every $5 donation helps!

Thank you so much! If you think you’d like to adopt me (and who wouldn’t!?!) submit an adoption application; In a few weeks I’ll be able to attend adoption events;  I’ll be the kind of skinny but very cute guy there.
