Hi, my name is Diago and I’m a 6 yr old male pug. I was recently rescued by APARN when the nice people at the Humane Society called and said a pug had been turned in.

I’m a big boy weighing in at 32 lbs! I’m pretty solid, but foster mom says I still need to lose at least 5-8lbs. That’s going to be tough this summer because we have to wait until it’s late to walk, otherwise the concrete is too hot for my little pads. I’m a great walker though and such a gentleman on the leash. Walking is my favorite time of the day…well, that and food time!

As you can see from my pics, my eyes are not great. I have some limited vision, but I’m a speedy gonzales up the stairs at foster mom’s house and have no problems jumping up on the couch to have my cuddle time. I get around just fine and don’t run into anything, but I will be on eye drops for the rest of my life (approx. cost $40/mo). I take my eye meds like a good boy and even give you a kiss when you’re done because I really appreciate how much this is helping me.

I’m a big love bug in general and get along great with everyone. I lived with kids in my previous home and am super gentle with everyone I meet. I don’t jump and like to give kisses and invite you in to love me. I am fostering with a couple other pugs right now and get along really well with them, although I wouldn’t necessarily need another dog in my next home. I’m mellow and just love my people. I’m also completely potty trained and know how to use the dog door.

I’ll be at the next APARN adoption event, so please come out and see how cute I am!
