ADOPTED
I've been Adopted!
Adopted: May 2011Click on pug picture for larger image

Hi, my name is Dirk, like Dirk Nowitzki of the Dallas Mavericks basketball team! I don’t play basketball, but foster mom says I am tall and muscular for a pug, and she says I would probably do great on the agility course. I bet she’s right. I weigh 23 pounds and trust me, I am all muscle!
I like doing active things. I know lots of tricks, including sit, lie down, roll over, and here is my favorite, because it is most impressive for a pug…if you put a treat on my head and tell me to wait, guess what? I will sit and wait until you tell me it is ok! I know, pretty cool. I am very smart and I like to do things that make you happy. What more could you want in a pug?
I am not quite 3 yrs old, and Foster Mom says I am very sweet and well mannered. (Don’t tell her I said this, but a couple of her pugs could use a few lessons in manners!) In my previous home I was not allowed on the furniture….what?? a pug not allowed on the furniture? Sad but true. So I don’t generally try to get on the couch. I am happy to lie on the floor by your feet, or in a dog bed. I do like to sit in a lap if I am invited up, however, once I am invited, I do feel that it is a standing invitation! I am a great snuggle pug, and will give you lots of puggy kisses.
I get along very well with other pugs of both sexes and all ages. I share very nicely, and Foster mom is including a cute photo of me sharing the dog bed with one of her pugs!
Please come meet me at an upcoming APARN event, or submit the adoption application and email it to APARN and tell them you want to meet Dirk.
