Hello, my name is Howie and I’m the one with the beautiful apricot coat and one white paw! They really should have named me Michael Jackson!

I’m about a year and a half old, with puppy energy and playfulness. Fortunately, there are a couple of other young pugs here, so I have buddies to play with.

The good folks at APARN rescued me from the county shelter and took me to a nice vet, where I was neutered and they cleaned up some punctures in a couple of places; they think I might have been attacked by another dog. Whatever it was, I’m glad to be safe inside now.

Speaking of inside, I had not spent a lot of time inside in my past life, so I’m now getting used to being in the house. Sometimes I’m not sure I’m supposed to go inside, and foster mom has to encourage me. She’s working with me to learn “inside manners,” which is why I’m wearing that handsome karate belt in the photo. But I’m a smart little guy and I know I’ll figure it out!

I would really like to have my own forever home! I’ll be attending some of these adoption events the APARN folks have, so check the schedule and come meet me!
