Hi, my name is Liana. It’s very pretty, don’t you think? And unique. Like me.
I am a 2 year old brindle pug. There aren’t a whole lot of us, but I’m definitely a pug. Brindle pugs can trace their heritage back hundreds of years. In fact, you can do a google search for an early pug painting called Old Virtue by Leonard Knyff (1650-1722); it is a painting of a brindle pug. The pug in the painting may be a little “leggy and snouty” but so were all the other pugs from this time period!
Foster mom says I am thin for a pug, but I was alone on the streets for awhile before coming to APARN, so sometimes I didn’t eat for days. I love to eat, and foster mom is currently giving me double portions, to help me gain a little weight. Not too much though, she says it is better for a pug’s overall health to stay on the thin side.
I like living with the other pugs here in my foster home, we have a good time. My foster sister is trying to teach me to play with toys. I really just like to hang out on Mom’s lap, that is my absolute favorite thing to do, so I am hoping to find a home where someone has plenty of lap space and lap time for me!
I am able to jump up and down off of the furniture (and laps!) by myself. And I can run pretty fast. What else should I tell you about myself? There aren’t any cats in my foster home, so I can’t tell you if I’d behave myself around cats or if I would chase them.
Oh, I guess I should tell you I am still kind of shy around new people, and I will duck if you reach for me. I don’t like loud noises either, they frighten me. So, after thinking about it, I would rather go to a home without young children, as they often move unexpectedly and make sudden loud noises. I am really a sweet, quiet pug girl. I would like a mellow home, where I can relax and just get lots of love and attention. Another pug or two would be okay, but no big dogs, please.
Hope to meet you soon,
Liana
