Hello out there! I’m Little Debbie and I think I can see you ~ or at least I see your shadow. Are you here to take me home and love me forever? I thought my last family was going to love me forever, but they left me on the side of a busy intersection in Yuma and some nice people found me in the middle of the road looking for my family. Everybody said I was lucky to still be alive because there were cars driving past me really fast. I didnít see the cars but felt the wind and heard the car tires screeching until someone stopped to get me out of the road. I was hoping it was my family, but I guess they just kept driving.
I was taken to the Yuma Humane Society where a nice lady drove me to meet people from APARN who are taking care of me until I find a new forever home.
I am nearly blind but get around fine even with my bum legs. I am a happy girl and love to snuggle next to you on the couch or anywhere you are. My foster mommy is taking me to get spayed on Friday, so I won’t have to worry about having babies anymore. My coat is so soft and my smile is great! Foster Mommy loves to see me smile and I get very happy to see her, I jump up and down and turn in circles. She talks to me so I know where she is so I can get close and feel secure again.
Even though I am a senior Pug, I have the heart of a youngster (just with more brains!) I am learning to hold it until Foster Mommy comes home to let me out to do my business. I would really like to find a forever home where I can get used to the furniture and find my way around. I like the other puggies in my foster home and no one knows if I know anything about cats or kids.
I am on two types of eye drops for dry eye and an ulcer on my right eye. The doctor has also started me on some antibiotics since my white count was on the high side. My legs are a little funny looking because I may have a spinal injury or degeneration, but that doesn’t stop me from getting around! I pull Foster Mommy the direction I want to go and she lets me if there isnít anything in the way!
Wonít you take the other end of my leash and lead me to your loving home where I can discover how to get to my food and doggy bed? I would love to sleep with you if you let me. I also love to look at you (cause you donít have to be able to see to know where the love is!) Please come and visit with me at the upcoming APARN events. You will love my silky soft fur and I will let you pet me as long as you want to!
Love,
Little Debbie
Update:
Hi everyone - Im Little Debbie - and yes, I am as sweet as my name suggests! I wanted to let you know that I am doing really well with my Forever Mommy. She couldn’t resist my charm (and I really like her too).
When I was walking around in the road in Yuma trying to find the family that seemed to have forgotten me, I never realized I would find such a loving and wonderful family to call my own. I may not be the healthiest pug around, but I still like to play and snuggle Reeaaallly close to Mommy. I give kisses and stare at Mommy to make sure Im not dreaming.
I want to thank APARN for saving me (I was in really bad shape when they got me from the nice Yuma HS Lady). Personally, I thought I might not be around if it hadnt been for the kindness of Loma (Yuma HS) and APARN. My new Mommy takes care of other Pugs that have lost their families and that’s ok. I’ll share her as long as I get to sleep next to her at night.
I get good food, all the water I want, friends to play with (thanks to Peaches), a comfy doggy bed when I cant get on the couch, and when I can get on the couch (Mommy lifts me up) I get the best seat in the house! Mommy gives me my eyes drops (though I protest) and takes me to the Doctor for check ups on my kidneys. I dont like it when Mommy leaves the room cause I want her next to me all the time, but I guess she has things she has to do. (I protest then too!)
Well, I better get back to snuggling….you can never snuggle too much! good luck to all the puggies out there - APARN will take good care of you and I know you all will find forever families to love you. Oh,...I wanted to tell you that Mommy entered my Photo in the Cutest Pug Photo Contest (I’m the one in the red hat!). I hope I win…you could vote for me if you want, Id like that!
Pug Hugs, Kisses, Snorts and Snuggles,
Little Debbie
