Aye Aye Folks! They call me Popeye and I am the best dog one could ever have...who knows why they gave me up, but now I am in the great hands of APARN and I am really liking it!

I must have been trained before because I am so well behaved and actually have manners, unlike most other pugs (shhh, don't tell any of the other fosters that). I am 8 years old, don't jump on the furniture and enjoy laying on my dog bed on the floor as much as I like to sleep on the couch. But when I do get the chance to snuggle up to someone special, I really enjoy that too, especially getting under a blanket or in the corner of my human's arm where it is dark and I feel safe. I also like the crate and will even crawl in it when the people are home.

I have heard through the grape vine that I was diagnosed with Lyme Disease, have an eye infection, had a neuter surgery, and also had my teeth cleaned, all in the past few weeks. It has been tough, but I am a tough guy and am handling the pain well. My neuter incision is all healed and my eye infection is almost gone too. Lyme Disease does not affect dogs as badly as it affects humans. They even said that I may get over it if I take an antibiotic for a month, which I have been on for a week now. If that doesn't help, I may have joint pain for the rest of my life and it could develop into kidney problems and rectal failure, but that is in severe cases. Right now I am not in too much pain and really enjoy the long walks and dog park visits.

For more information on Lyme Disease, please visit this website: http://www.2ndchance.info/lyme.htm or this one: http://www.lymediseaseindogs.net. Lyme disease is not dangerous, but we just have to make sure there are no ticks on me, because if a tick bites me and then bites a human or another dog, it can be transmitted to them.

Please give a guy a chance...I really am a good dog! And I already have my costume picked out for Halloween!
