Read my story...

Hello, so pleased to meet you! My name is Princess Shaine!

I’m only 4.5 years old, and have been in foster care for several weeks, but I wouldn’t let my foster mom post a picture until now. You see, I was suffering from severe food allergies compounded by yeast infections and hair loss. I hardly looked like a Princess! My previous owner didn’t understand how bad food allergies can affect a pug. I’m here to tell you, they can be pretty bad. I looked (and smelled!) like I had mange, but like that little yellow puppy on TV says, “There ain’t no bugs on me!” Nope, not a one. All my skin issues were because I was eating the wrong type of food.

Foster mom put me on Fish & Sweet Potato kibble, and boy are they yummy! I also get a Fish & Sweet Potato treat now and then. I am not supposed to have anything other than this food from now on, because it has helped me get so much better.

I still take a few pills a week, but foster mom is weaning me off, and helping me learn that what I thought was an itch that needed to be scratched was really just habit from itching for so long.

So I am ready for a new home, and I would love it if there were no more than 2 or 3 other animals already there, because I loves attention. I think my most favorite thing is just sitting on a lap and cuddling. While I will happily share lap space with others, I hear that there are some pugs that aren’t as generous about sharing their people. Foster mom says I am just such a good girl, I deserve to be special!

I am generally a well mannered girl, and mostly quiet, enjoy playing with stuffed toys. I like to eat, so my new family has to commit to portion control, and making sure I don’t steal food from any other dogs, because given a chance, I will.  (That’s why I am just generally well mannered, lol)

So please fill out the adoption application, and be sure to put my name on it somewhere. Remember, foster mom is going to be looking for a new family for me who will commit to continued care for my food allergies.

See you soon!
