Rags is approx 11-12 years old, and is fairly sight and hearing impaired. No one knows his exact history.
He came to APARN and was adopted, but his family’s status changed, and they could not keep him, so he is back with us again. Rags is a big pug at about 28 lbs. While his foster home is not sure if he is really overweight or just large, he is on a weight reduction and exercise program right now.
Rags’s house manners are excellent. In spite of what we could call his handicaps, Rags finds his way to the doggie door and is excellent at “casing” out a room, inch by inch, remembering it and coming back into the room like dog with sight. He is a pretty self-directed pug especially when he gets going on a pig’s ear.
He is slow but persistent at all of his tasks like walking, eating, sleeping. He does hear some tones and if you get right next to his ear and speak loudly, he does hear. Rags needs some daily care with eye drops.
