Greetings from boot camp! I’m Rocky, an 8 year old, black pug who as you can see, is a bit on the pudgy side.
I just celebrated my 8th birthday by getting sprung from the Yavapai County shelter - talk about cause for celebration! This nice lady in Prescott took me out of the shelter and then brought me to my new foster mom, who runs this doggy boot camp for chubby pugs such as myself. Now mind you, I was a LOT fatter a year ago and lost about 17 pounds, but I still have a ways to go. Foster Mom says now that I’m on the right food, which means no people food, I’ll be a slim trim wisp of my former self in no time. She’s really pleased with how well I eat that skinny food and says I’m not a bit food aggressive. Let’s face it, it’s not nearly as much fun being “aggressive” with healthy food as it is with all that yummy people food. Oh well, I really am looking forward to being slim and trim so I can run and play better with my foster brothers and sisters.
I’m a very laid back boy and get along well with my four foster brothers and sisters just fine. There’s even this really crabby foster sister who seems to tolerate me fine and foster Mom says I’m lucky because she really doesn’t like anybody! I use the doggy door like a pro and have never, ever marked in the house. I much prefer the fence. Right now I’m getting over an ear infection, but the daily drops in my ears will have that cleared up shortly. Foster Mom says I’ve adjusted so quickly that it seems like I’ve been here forever. She’s really nice and so are my foster brothers and sisters, but I sure would like to fit in to a new forever home. I’m really sweet and love to give pug kisses, so wouldn’t you like to take me home and enjoy all those nice puggie kisses?
