Hello pug lovers—I’m Roko, a 4-year old fawn boy.
When I came to APARN a while back, I was a pretty sick boy with valley fever. It had affected my shoulder, giving me a limp and making me pretty scrawny.
Well…look at me now, see anything scrawny about that handsome pug? I am now symptom free and I don’t limp at all—I can run and jump pretty much like any four-year old boy can do. I’m on the small side for a pug, about 14-1/2 pounds, but it’s all cuteness according to my Foster Mom. She says I’m all boy and that I have a bit of an alpha personality. I wonder what she meant by that?
I’m very much a lap dog and like nothing better than curling up on your lap, or better yet, on your chest. I have my own pillow on Foster Mom’s bed, but she said maybe I shouldn’t tell you that! I get along with all the other dogs here and don’t even mind cats, but I sure don’t like anyone messing with my food and I sometimes try to sneak in and steal food from the other pugs. Although my symptoms from the valley fever are gone, the vet says I still need to stay on the meds to keep them from recurring, possibly my whole life.
The good news is I don’t have to be retested for a whole year and my meds cost less than $25 a month. I’ve been here a while getting better, but I’m really ready to find my forever home now, so come visit me at one of APARN’s adoption events. You’re just going to love me!
Pug hugs and kisses,
Roko
