Hello! My name is Tinkerbell; but I listen to Tink. I’m an active little special needs pup, 1.5 years old. I suffer from a seizure disorder and I have been to the neurologist and he says I need to take medication 2 times a day to keep my seizures under control.
My foster mom has me on a 7am/7pm schedule for my medication. If I have a seizure I like to be held very tight to make sure that I do not get hurt. I am a great little Pug girl but I will require more long term medical care than a healthy pup, as I will need to get my blood checked 1-2 times a year to make sure my medication is at the right dose.
I tremble uncontrollably most of the time and sometimes I have a hard time focusing on my human & animal friends. My bottom jaw is also a bit longer than usually which makes eating and drinking a messy endeavor. Often I will have to cough right after I drink. That does not bother me too much though. I love to drink! A lot!
I am getting ready to be spayed soon and then I might be ready to find my forever home.
I like to play ALL of the time and enjoy the company of other small dogs. I think there’s a lot that I can learn from them still. My foster parents would describe me as a little hurricane. I like to bounce a lot like Tigger!
I’m very sweet and loving and like to attach myself to the people I love. Yes; I tether myself! Pants, skirts and any strings I will attach myself to so that I’m never too far away from you! Be careful because I still do not understand the concept of personal space. You have to be Ninja-like quick to not trip over me.
I enjoy the company of everyone, but younger children are not too fond of me. My foster mom says that babies do not like to be dragged around by their clothes or hair?! Why not I wonder? I also like to steal their foods and toys. That causes a lot of baby vs. Tink conflict. I am a little embarrassed to talk about the topic of stealing things but my foster mom says it is important to be honest. I like to steal and sometimes I will take things (especially out of the garbage) that are not safe for me to have.
Speaking of embarrassing things, I still need some help in the area of potty training. I know how to use the doggy-door but prefer company outside or I get scared. When that happens I opt to play it safe & stay inside. Oh, what a dilemma if I have to pee or go poop!
I do not know how to read yet but I like to take books and magazines. I’m getting more and more proficient as time goes on & I can actually climb into or onto your shelves or other furniture to get them. After I practice my reading skills I tend to get bored with all the letters & I will just eat them. Books are great! They are not only filled with knowledge but also taste exquisite…so do couch pillows, entertainment centers, plastic dishes, zippy cups, blinds and other random objects.
My foster mom buys me a lot of new toys to keep me busy and entertained. That helps a lot!
I am a wonderful little girl with a great personality and a lot of love to give. I need a home as special as I am. I would love it if someone was there with me all day to make sure that I am safe and that I do not get myself in trouble. Due to my health condition and being a pup I am very clumsy and I get hurt a lot by getting stuck in and under things and falling off & into furniture. I have acquired a bunch of battle scars on my head already; but they make me look tough my foster mom says. My fosters joke a lot and say that I may need a helmet or a hamster ball. I do not think so. I watch a lot of Jackie Chan movies and seeing that I am Chinese I think I could apply for his stunt team!
