Hi there everyone, I’m Van. They say I’m 15 years old, but I don’t act like that old. I say you are as old as you feel and I don’t feel a day over 10.
I am about 20 lbs of Black Pug cuteness. As my name reflects, I am kind of an Artsy pug, Starry starry night…...you know the rest. The doctor I saw said I’m in really good shape for my age and the only thing that needs a fixin’ are my teeth. They are pretty nasty. I think I have been collecting stuff in there for a long while! It makes really good glue as the doctor thinks that is the only thing holding some of my teeth in!!! But I am going for a dental in the next few days and will have a minty fresh smile for you to see at the upcoming APARN events.
I can jump up on the couch and use the stair to get on the bed, which is better than most the other pugs in my foster home - and they are half my age!! There is a really cute little girl who walks kind of funny…I think someone said her name is Little Snack Cake, oh, no Little Debbie! That’s it - she is a real cute gal and I think she likes me. She told me that other foster pugs have been in my foster home and they all get adopted! She said she was adopted and so were her sisters Peaches and Bailey! Wagner doesn’t talk much yet, but I think he is nice too.
Van gets along great with the pug girls at his foster home, but when introduced to males, he gets VERY upset and should go to a home without other male dogs.
I like to be close to my people and get a bit upset when they walk out of the room where I can’t see them. My eyesight is good, but I am afraid my person will leave me again and that scares me. I am not partial to crates either…“don’t fence me in..” is my motto! I love to cuddle up in pillows on the couch during the day while Foster Mom sits close to me. You won’t believe this, but she let me sleep in the big bed with her - something the other pugs say hasn’t ever happened before! I must be a very special pug. I would love to show you how good I am, with going potty outside and no marking in the house. Even though I can still lift my leg to do number 1 outside, I wouldn’t even think of doing that inside. Won’t you come and visit with me at the next APARN event? I love to sit on your lap and put my head against you. I will be waiting!
Thanks and see you soon!
Van
