Looking to adopt a pug? Need to surrender your pug? We can help. APARN is a 501(c)3 non-profit, all-volunteer organization dedicated to the rescue and placement of the pug breed.

APARN‘s Mission is to rescue abused, abandoned, homeless, unwanted, sick or injured Pugs, rehabilitate them and place them into loving, permanent adoptive homes in Arizona. We strive to educate the public about the Pug dog breed, including its personality, special needs and care. We provide medical care and spay or neuter operations for all of the Pugs that come into our rescue.

The Cutest Pug Contest for 2012!

It’s that time of year! APARN’s annual Cutest Pug Contest is here! Get your best photos ready to enter. We are now accepting entries. This year, there’s a $5 entry fee for each photo.

Last year, we crushed all records with an amazing $29,864 earned for APARN! We’re setting the goal at $30k this year.

Wouldn't it be super cool and amazing if every $1 vote could be enhanced to be worth $2 to APARN? Guess what? That is ACTUALLLY going to happen! APARN has a sponsor that will match dollar for dollar earned in the Cutest Pug Contest (up to $25k), and that is Lulu’s Fund, set up by the Timothy T. Day Foundation! Lulu Day was the winner of APARN’s first Cutest Pug Contest, so it is fitting that Lulu’s Fund has been created in her honor to help APARN with this annual fundraiser.

Even if you don't enter your pug in the Cutest Pug Contest this year, we hope you will vote for one or more of our contestants, and be a part of this once in a lifetime level of support to help APARN provide necessary medical care for our rescue pugs.

We need your help!

APARN has taken in over 250 pugs in 2011!

Each has needed care ranging from routine vaccination updates and spay/neuter surgeries to eye enucleations, major dental procedures and even a few life saving procedures such as removing bladder stone blockages. APARN exists solely on donations and we are in need of assistance to continue to take in pugs and give them the care they need.

Please consider making a donation today! No amount is too small, however, everyone who donates $50 or more by the end of February will be entered into a drawing for a $25 VISA gift card. Lost Pet U.S.A. is a website where people can search for their lost pets, report found pets, and use as a resource for departments looking for their pets or what to do if they find a pet.
