Pug Facts
Pugs are fantastic companions - their main goal in life seems to be spending time with their people. They are small dogs with big dog hearts. Of course you want one, who doesn’t? But there are some important things to know about the breed.
Pugs are indoor dogs. They can’t be put in the backyard and left alone. Especially here in Arizona Pugs can overheat quickly outside and die. It is very important to be ready to handle an inside dog if you are considering a pug.
Pugs shed. Most dogs do, its not a surprise -but if you mind dog hair on your clothes you might want to consider another breed.
Pugs can have many health problems. Between their protruding eyes (no good around an angry cat), their wrinkles that need to be kept clean and their compromised breathing there can be some serious problems. However as with all breeds some dogs are healthier than others. But before you adopt make sure you can cover medical costs should you need to.
