The Animal Rescuers: Show 9

This week Kimber shares three stories of persistence, kindness and a little old fashioned luck. Harley, a bull mastiff, was left alone when his owner died. After one unsuccessful adoption, he finally came to be with Rose, who was also recovering from a life trauma.

Next was Lady, a blue Pit Bull, who was found in a shelter, suffering horrendous chemical burns on her back. She was saved with the help of the Lulu's Angel Fund (a PACC911 special medical fund). She is now the loving companion of Alonzo and his family.

The third story is a follow up of our Christmas miracle dog, Nicholas, who was in a shelter and had an ugly tumor on his face. After several surgeries, and yet more to come, he is in full recovery mode, rushing now towards health. This is a story that we will follow until Nick is adopted

Our Pet of the Week is a yellow lab, found by a kind police officer at the airport and rescued. He was adopted once but had to be returned because of unfortunate circumstances. He is ready for a forever home.

Wendi introduces us to Sully, a stray, with a plan to get him to accept humans. And Jen, from Pet Planet, talks more about nutrition for your pets and the benefits of better quality, healthy pet food, both for your animal and your budget.

The Animal Rescuers: Show 8

This week Kimber visits with Dee Kotinas from HEAR (Hope Emergency Animal Rescue), where she finds out about the group that helps animals in crisis. And about the much needed sanctuary that is planned.

Also, Kimber talks to the CEO of the Emergency Animal Clinic, Pat Levin, about the shining new facility.

The Pet of the Week is a very cute Parsons terrier. Wendi talks about eye contact in our training segment. Jen from Pet Planet discusses ID tagging your animals.

We visit two events this week. The first a shred-a-thon to benefit Desert Labradors and a meet-and-greet for Greyhounds.

The Animal Rescuers: Show 7

This week Kimber visits Dreamchasers, a unique horse rescue in New River, AZ. What makes Dreamchasers unique is that horses are not the only animals who get rescued there. Goats, sheep, llamas, donkeys, chickens, pigs, the who; menagerie are fed and taken care of by Susan Thompson. Kimber gets to ride Taylor, a beautiful horse that was trained by Susan, as well.

The Pets of the Week are Cubby and Lily, a bonded pair of golden mixes. Wendi talks about thresholds and keeping your dog under control. Jen starts a series on nutrition, with examination of pet food do's and don'ts.

PACC911 held a great adoption event in Anthem. Hundreds of humans and dogs braved the chilly, rainy day to attend.

This week Kimber visited Altered Tails, a spay neuter clinic in Phoenix that performs thousands of spays and neuters ever year.
Finally, a great adoption event held by our friends at PACC911. Hundreds of dogs and cats were out and many got adopted!

Kimber spent time with Luv of Dogz Rescue at a park, found out what motivates this special team to take in hard-to-adopt animals. We also met many of the current group of adoptable or close to adoptable dogs.

Our pets of the week are a mother and son combo of ponies of the Americas.

And we got a glimpse of the training and qualifications of becoming a disaster search dog as we visited the Phoenix Fire Department training center.
